Chia seeds are packed full of protein, magnesium, antioxidants and fibre helping you feel fuller for longer thus helping weight loss too!
Makes 4 servings
1 and half cups of unsweetened Almond milk
Third of cup of chia seeds
Quarter of cup of raw cacao or unsweetened cocoa powder
1-2 Tabs of maple syrup or raw honey or liquid stevia to taste
Half tsp ground cinnamon
Quarter of tsp of sea-salt
Half a tsp of vanilla extract
Combine all ingredients except sweetener in a mason jar and shake well, add sweetener gradually to preferred taste.
Leave in the fridge over-night or for at least 3-5 hours until it has reached a pudding-like consistency.
Serve chilled with sliced banana, blueberries or raspberries, desiccated coconut, flaked almonds etc..
Will last up to 5 days in the fridge but tastes best when eaten within 2-3 days
Alternative recipe with oats
Fill an empty mason jar with gluten free oats
Add 1 tbsp. of chia seeds
Mix it up
Pour in Almond, Rice or Coconut milk to the top of the oats
Top with berries/nuts or desiccated coconut
Put in the fridge over-night
